Bahia Mar Yachting Center

If you have seen a photograph of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, you have seen Bahia Mar. It is the show's home ground, and for the rest of the year it is one of the most conveniently placed marinas in South Florida.

Where it sits

Bahia Mar occupies a stretch of A1A between the Intracoastal and Fort Lauderdale beach. Which is the single fact that explains its character. You are a short walk from the sand on one side and inside the Intracoastal on the other, with quick access out through Port Everglades Inlet.

For an owner, that inlet proximity matters more than it sounds. Getting offshore without a long Intracoastal transit, and without waiting on bridge openings, changes how often a boat actually gets used.

Who it suits

  • Owners who want to walk off the boat into a city. Restaurants, the beach, and Las Olas are all close.
  • Larger vessels. Bahia Mar has long been a superyacht-capable facility. It is the show venue for a reason.
  • Anyone who runs offshore regularly and values the inlet access.
  • Charter operations that need guests to arrive easily by car.

The boat show factor

Every autumn the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show takes over the property. If you keep a boat here, plan around it. The show is a genuine advantage if you are selling, and a genuine disruption if you simply want a quiet slip in late October.

Selling during FLIBS? A vessel already berthed in or near the show footprint is materially easier to show than one across town. If a sale is on your horizon, talk to us about timing the listing to the show calendar. It is one of the few pieces of timing in this business that reliably moves the needle.

What to check before committing

Marina specifications change: slip inventory, maximum LOA, beam and draft limits, utility configuration and rates all get revised. Confirm the current figures directly with the marina office before you sign anything, and confirm insurance requirements at the same time.

Common questions

Is Bahia Mar where the Fort Lauderdale boat show is held?

Yes. Bahia Mar is the long-standing home of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held each autumn.

Is it good for larger yachts?

It has historically been a superyacht-capable facility. Confirm current maximum LOA, beam and draft with the marina office, as these are periodically revised.

How is the ocean access?

Strong. It sits close to Port Everglades Inlet, so you can be offshore quickly without a long Intracoastal run or bridge waits.
